Leading diagnostics information services provider, Quest Diagnostics, and South Carolina’s Regional Medical Center (RMC) have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing the value and quality of diagnostic services for doctors and their patients. Under the new partnership agreement, Quest would be providing full laboratory management services.

Steve Rusckowski, President, Chairman and CEO of Quest Diagnostics said that the company shares RMC’s passion for delivering compassionate and quality care to patients. Both large and small hospitals partner with Quest for helping to execute their laboratory strategies in the pressurized healthcare environment of today, Rusckowski highlighted.

Quest Diagnostics said it will be offering laboratory equipment, management expertise, reference testing, supplies as well as procurement services for RMC, the New Jersey based diagnostics firm confirmed.

CEO and President of RMC, Charles Williams stated that the new collaboration with Quest will enable the company to stay focused towards improving patient care and outcomes, working with an industry leader who can access the most sophisticated diagnostics equipment available. He added that RMC would benefit from expertise, scale and innovation that Quest bring to the partnership.

Records show that every year, Quest Diagnostics is serving one in three adults in America and around half the hospitals and physicians in the U.S. It has close to 46,000 employees who work towards using its diagnostic insights for inspiring actions that transform lives of the people.

For the uninitiated, the RMC health system is owned by Calhoun and Orangeburg counties in South Carolina, and consists of a 286-bed, acute-care hospital that is certified by the Joint Commission as well as 24 specialty care and primary care practices. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has granted a Level III Trauma Center designation to RMC, which also holds advanced certification as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission.
